New Delhi: Legendary tennis star Roger Federer on Thursday failed in his bid to win a 18th Grand Slam, as he succumbed to yet another defeat at the hands of Novak Djokovic.

Though the Serb was favorite to win the clash of the titans, there was no doubt who the crowd favorite was.

A partisan gathering at the Rod Laver Arena rooted for Federer, hoping he would pull off a miracle win against the rampaging world number one.,

Apart from the Aussie public, there were two famous personalities who also cheered on the 17-time Grand Slam winner.

Team India's batting superstars Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh, ardent tennis fans themselves, were present in Melbourne to support Federer.

Kohli took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the picture of the duo at the match.

India's Test vice-captain is a huge Federer fan. Kohli picked up a stake in IPTL franchise UAE Royals, of which Federer is a squad member.

Kohli was spotted at Wimbledon's Royal Box in 2015 along with Sachin Tendulkar to watch Federer in action.

The Indian team is currently in town to play the 2nd T20I against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, handing Kohli the perfect opportunity to watch his favorite tennis star at the year's first major.
