Giselle aped Sharmila Tagore in ‘Love Aaj Kal’

Mumbai: The ‘soni-kudi’ of ‘Love Aaj Kal’ fame had no background to be what she so successfully portrayed onscreen – a traditional Punjabi girl! But Giselle Monteiro confesses that her inspiration has been her favourite actor from Bollywood – Sharmila Tagore! Draped in flowing dupattas throughout the flick, the Brazilian model keeps gracefully flowing in and out of the scenes, throwing coy glances at Saif, who plays her sohna munda in the movie. Gushing about her first co-star’s mother, Giselle said in her thick accent, “Imtiaz showed me her films. Because she had the kind of personality Imtiaz wanted me to project. I learnt a lot from her. She is so beautiful!” Naturally the Brazilian beauty wanted to meet the veteran actress who still possesses the charm to bowl over onlookers. But Giselle was not so fortunate. She said, “But I didn`t get a chance. If I did I`d tell her how amazing I find her. I love her in her movies. She`s wow!” She also dreams of visiting Goa sometime. Her reason is, “Because there`re lots of Monteiros in Goa!” Perhaps, a new India-lover has been born in this ‘pseudo-Punjabi-kudi’!
