New Delhi: Brendon McCullum and AB de Villiers have the reputation of being two of the most destructive cricketers in world cricket.

The duo, having entertained Indian fans with several breathtaking knocks in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has signed up for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as well.

McCullum, who has played in the IPL, England's domestic T20 championship and Australia's Big Bash League (BBL), said he was now looking forward to entertaining the Caribbean crowd in his maiden CPL appearance.

"I'm super excited to be featuring in this edition of the 2016 CPL. It's really special to be playing in the Caribbean; the fan engagement and carnival atmosphere is something I've heard a lot from a lot of players around the world," McCullum said.

McCullum fetched $130,000 for the Trinbago Knight Riders at the CPL draft which was held in Barbados on Thursday.

De Villiers will also make his tournament debut this year after he was picked by Barbados Tridents, co-owned by Vijay Mallya, for $130,000.

"Barbados is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I am honoured to have been invited to join the Tridents," AB told CPL's official website.

"Vijay Mallya, chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore, my team in the Indian Premier League, has recently secured an interest in the Tridents and I am very much looking forward to joining forces with him in another part of the world."
