CLT20 Final 2014: Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders - As it happened...

Riding on the blistering hundred of Suresh Raina, CSK chased the imposing total of 180 runs in mere 18.3 overs. But another CSK player who made a impact in the match was left-arm spinner, Pawan Negi, who scalped five wickets, when Dhoni decided to bowl first after winnings the toss. CSK have once again showed that they are masters of this format and under Dhoni they are still a force to reckon with. If Negi was rewarded with Man of the Match, Raina won Man of the Series award. And with the loss to CSK in the summit clash of the sixth edition of the CLT20, KKR's winning streak of 14 matches finally came to an end.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League Twenty20 final between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.

Within a few minutes from now, CSK and KKR, the two Indian franchises, will lock-horns with each other in the summit clash of the sixth edition of Champions League Twenty20 from Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

Just ahead of the final clash, Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata franchise suffered a major blow in the form of their 'mystery spinner' Sunil Naraine, who was reported for suspect action in their last group match, for the second the time, and will not be allowed to bowl in the final. But, it's certainly a good news from CSK's perspective. And as the match is scheduled to take place at their home ground, it would be like cherry on the cake.

However, KKR can take heart from the fact that they are on a winning streak and have won 14 matches on the trot thus far, since the seventh edition of the IPL. With the likes of Jacques Kallis, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, Suryakumar Yadav and Yusuf Pathan at disposal, Kolkata have enough fire-power in their batting line-up.

Though, without Narine, their bowling line-up is looking a bit vulnerable against the solid-batting line up of Chennai. But, in the finals, it would be exciting to watch the performance of Kuldeep Yadav, who has been picked up in the national team for the first three matches against West Indies.

On the other hand, CSK's destructive openers – Brandon McCullum and Dwayne Smith – haven't performed well so far in the tournament. But still they have enough depth in their batting line-up. With Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja they are capable of setting up a big total or chase down huge score.

If CSK win the match, they will lift the CLT20 trophy for the second time, but if KKR become victorious, it will be their maiden trophy.

Even on papers both the teams are looking at par with each other. So a thrilling final is on the cards for sure.
