Album with Peter Andre on the cards: Sophie Choudhary

All set to provide glamour to ‘Daddy Cool’, Sophie speaks to Tanu Talwar of Spicezee.com about her hopes from filmdom.

A former VJ, a promising singer and a sexy starlet; multi-talented Sophie Choudhary sure has a long way to go. The swishy babe, who is much too aware of her sensuality and revels in her sex symbol tag, is making the most of her on and off tryst with Bollywood. All set to provide the glamour quotient to the dark funeral comedy ‘Daddy Cool’, the entertainer spoke to Tanu Talwar of Spicezee.com about her hopes from filmdom, dream co-star and potential album with Hollywood hottie Peter Andre.
Tanu: Tell us about your role in ‘Daddy Cool’?
Sophie: I play a struggling model in the film. I make a surprise entry in the family that has gathered at Goa for the funeral of the family patriarch. My character is called Ayesha and she is desperate to get a break in showbiz. The character that I play is completely disconnected from the family. No one has a clue as to who she is? The entire bunch is left dumbfounded when I show up looking hot in a short red dress at a funeral scene. Tanu:So, how is the mystery about Ayesha solved? Sophie: Well, after a series of amusing incidents, she realises that she is at the wrong address. Nevertheless, she decides to make the most of her time and ends up creating much chaos in an already messy situation. See ‘Daddy Cool’ is a comedy but it is not a brainless one. Tanu:The movie is touted to be inspired by Hollywood film ‘Death At A Funeral’… Sophie: Yes it is. But the character that I play wasn’t there in the original. My character adds glamour to the black funeral scene. And it’s one of the best parts I have played so far. Tanu:Your latest body of work hardly depicts any kind of experimentation in roles. Aren’t you afraid of being typecast? Sophie: Absolutely not! I would be stupid to break free from my original style. I can’t change from who I am. I play the parts that suit my personality. I don’t want to negate the image that audience have of me. I have worked hard to create this impression, afterall. Tanu:The ‘sex symbol’ tag offends a lot of actresses. Does it bother you? Sophie: Not, at all. See, everyday we hear of actresses wanting to switch from their girl-next-door image to a sexy avatar. I, luckily, never had to try to be sexy. It works for me to be sexy and I have really worked hard to look the way I do. Then, why should I try to be something I am not? For me, being dubbed sexy is the biggest compliment. Tanu:You were a VJ before you took up acting. What according to you is more rewarding? Sophie: I consider myself really lucky to be an entertainer. I have been a VJ and I am a singer and an actress now. The fact is that I enjoy doing new things. Just last month I made my theatre debut. I love to experiment. Tanu:So, what’s the next big venture you are excited about? Sophie: I have two big films coming up. One is called ‘Chintu Ji’ with Rishi Kapoor and like every girl I too had a huge crush on him growing up. The other is ‘Alibaug’ directed by Sanjay Gupta. Tanu:Your meeting with Hollywood hunk Peter Andre made a lot of waves in India. Sophie: Well yes. Peter is very charming. He is very different in person. He is extremely warm and as I met him at a time when he was going through a very public break-up, our meeting was highlighted. But we really do have a great chemistry and we hit off really well. Tanu:So, is an album with Peter Andre on the cards? Sophie: Yes, that might be possible, but it’ too early to talk about it. Nevertheless, it’s on the cards. Tanu:From the current generation, which actor would you like to work with? Sophie: Oh, it has to be Abhishek Bachchan! I grew up with his cousins in London and have known him for a long time. He is a real gentleman and I would love to do a film with him. Tanu:Who is the hottest actor in Bollywood as of now? Sophie: Well, there can be only one Salman Khan and only one Shah Rukh Khan but as far as the hot quotient goes I feel that Neil Nitin Mukesh is the hottest of the lot.
