‘The Notebook’ to be turned into musical

New York: Tearjerker romantic novel ‘The Notebook’ is set to be turned into a stage musical.

The book written by Nicholas Sparks is about a young couple falling in love in 1940s. After taking the audiences by storm with its big screen adaptation starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, it will now be turned into a stage musical. The musical is being adapted by "One Tree Hill" actress Bethany Joy Galeotti and record producer Ron Aniello, reports a news daily. The producers are kick-starting the production in Wilmington, NC, with a workshop production of the new theatrical in October. Although neither of the production`s instigators have written or performed on Broadway, Galeotti recently directed her first episode of "One Tree Hill" and Aniello wrote music and lyrics for "The Lonely," a musical based on a "Twilight Zone" episode.
