Day 2 of Saurashtra-Delhi tie called off

Rajkot: Play was called off without a ball being bowled on the second consecutive day of the Group A Ranji Trophy encounter between Delhi and Saurashtra due to wet outfield.

Umpires Amit Saheba and Nandan N N took the call soon after lunch.

However, groundsmen have expressed hope that play could commence tomorrow morning if the weather remains clear.

Saurashtra has two points in three matches, while Delhi has pocketed seven points in three matches.

In case, the match is called off, both teams would have to be content with just a point each. If play begins, then they will have to make sure that at least the first innings gets completed to earn three points.
