Stumps Haryana lost three more wickets in the final eight overs of the day. Yadav was the seventh wicket to fall. He scored 45 (92b). Joginder Sharma was the next to depart. He fell to Zaheer after scoring just two runs. Mohit Sharma became Dabholkar’s fourth victim. He was out for a duck. Patel 16 runs in three balls by hitting a boundary and two consecutive sixes off the third, fourth and fifth delivery of the 67th over, bowled by Dabholkar. Zaheer bowled the final over of the day in which just a single was added to the total. Haryana are leading by 222 runs. ==================================================================================== #Haryana: Overs: 60 Score: 199/6 (Yadav 44*, Joginder 0*) Daholkar was hit for a six off his first delivery in the 53rd over by Rana but he exacted his revenge by trapping him in front of the wickets off the penultimate delivery of the over. His second over of the third session resulted in seven runs being added to the Haryana total including a boundary to Dewan. Dabholkar later removed Dewan in the 45th over by having him caught by wicketkeeper Tare. He scored 44 (121b). Sachin Rana came in to bat next. Off the next over came just four runs in the form of a boundary to Yadav. Rana scored his first boundary in the 48th over, bowled by Nayar. ==================================================================================== #Haryana: Overs: 38 Score: 132/3 (Dewan 34*, Yadav 11*) Tea. Kulkarni finally broke the second wicket stand between Dewan and Sunny by removing the latter. Sunny was out after being bowled. He scored 63 (78b). Abhimany Khod came in to bat next. He got off the mark with a boundary. Off the next, came eight runs including a boundary to Dewan. Khod struck the third delivery of the 34th over by Zaheer for a boundary but departed soon after being caught by Dabholkar off the fifth delivery. He scored 8 (10b). Jayant Yadav came in to bat next. Sunny scored his third boundary in the next through point region. The 19th over proved to be a productive one for the hosts as in it Sunny struck three boundaries – off the first, fifth and sixth delivery. Zaheer Khan and Dhawal Kulkarni shared the new ball as Nitin Saini and Rahul Dewan opened the innings for Haryana. The hosts took the lead as early as fourth ball of their second innings with a boundary from the bat of Saini. The second boundary also came from his bat against the same bowler (Zaheer) off the second delivery of second over. The fourth over was a maiden while Zaheer’s third resulted in just one. Dhawal bowled his third successive maiden over before Zaheer gave Haryana an early blow in Saini who was out caught behind after edging the fifth delivery of the seventh over to Aditya Tare. He scored 9 (25b). Sunny Singh came in to bat next. Javed Khan was introduced in the 10th over and it was a maiden. ==================================================================================== #Mumbai: Overs: 62 Score: 136/10 (Kulkarni 25*) Mumbai have been bowled out for 136 in their reply to Haryana’s first innings total of 134 runs. Dabholkar was the 10th wicket to fall after being caught by Yadav off Patel. He scored 3 (13b). Mumbai have a meagre lead of two runs over the hosts. Earlier, Mohit Sharma was introduced into the attack and Kulkarni struck two boundaries in his overs – the second one thanks to an outside edge. ==================================================================================== #Mumbai: Overs: 58 Score: 126/9 (Kulkarni 15*, Dabholkar 2*) Mumbai were in for a rude shock on the second morning of their Ranji Trophy opener against Haryana as they slumped to 126/9 within 11 overs after resuming batting on the second day. Harshal Patel and Joginder Sharma began the proceedings from the Haryana’s end as overnight pair of hawal Kulkarni and Ajinkya Rahane took guard for Mumbai. With a boundary off the third delivery of the 47th over and a single off the next, Rahane reached his fifty. However, Joginder Sharma trapped him in front in the 49th over ending his knock at 51 (108b). Next man Aditya Tare was out first ball as he edged the third delivery from Sharma to Sachin Rana at second slip. The fall of Mumbai’s sixth wicket brought Joginder on the verge of a hat-trick but Hiken Shah safely defended his next to deny him third wicket of third successive delivery. However, Shah ultimately fell to Joginder as he was caught by wicketkeeper Nitin Saini off the first delivery of 53rd over. Javed Khan came in to bat next. Joginder made sure that Javed departed without disturbing the scoreboard as he removed him by having him caught by Dewan in the 55th over. With this, Sharma completed his five-wicket haul. Harshal Patel took Zaheer Khan’s wicket to give Mumbai another blow as they were reduced to 120/9. He also fell for a duck. Nayar was out after being caught by Yadav. He scored 24 (60b). Dhawal Kulkarni came in to bat next. That was a wicket-maiden over. Off the following over, Rahane scored a boundary which was the only scoring shot in it. The next was a maiden while the 44th – the last of the day – resulted in two runs. Mumbai are still trailing Haryana by 34 runs with six wickets in hand.
