Margao: Parvez Rassol scored a brilliant 171 as Jammu and Kashmir posted 338 in their first innings against host Goa in Ranji Trophy Group C match at Goa Cricket Academy ground at Porvorim.
Rassol forged a 146-run partnership for the eighth wicket with captain Samiulla Beigh (57 not out) to lift J&K to a commanding score after resuming their individual innings at an overnight score of 90 and 3 respectively.
On the draw of stumps on the second day, Goa were 48 without loss in 29 overs. Debutant Amogh Dessai (21) and experienced Swapnil Asnodkar (22) were at the crease.
Dessai faced 84 balls and hit two boundaries, while Asnodkar played carefully and faced 92 balls and only once he hit the fence.
Earlier, Rassol hit 16 fours and three sixes in his 381-ball innings. Finally Amogh Dessai, who was most successful bowlers with four wickets, took the wicket of Rassol with Jakati taking the well-judged catch.
Beigh faced 213 balls and hit seven fours and one six in his unfinished innings.
Desai then dismissed R Dayal (2) and Abid Nabi (1) to mop up the tail of the visitors.
Desai gave away just 24 runs and took four wickets in his 13.3 overs, while Saurabh Bandekar`s took two wickets for 61 runs and Sher Bahadur Yadav snapped two giving away 54 runs.
Sahil Dhuri And Shadab Jakati managed one wicket each.
