Sonam Kapoor sheds designer wear for KJo’s ‘I Hate Love Stories’

Sonam Kapoor has been ordered by Karan Johar to get rid of her designer gowns and get back to the basics- tees and denims.

Mumbai: Sonam Kapoor is facing a dilemma these days, but what exactly is it that’s troubling her? Well, the actress, who is known to have a penchant for expensive designer wears, has been ordered by Karan Johar to get rid of her designer gowns and get back to the basics- tees and denims, for the actress is starring in his new film ‘I Hate Love Stories’. According to reports, the film in question has Imran Khan along with Sonam Kapoor and will be directed by Puneet Malhotra. “While Imran has a boyish image, Sonam has an international designer gown wali image. While it may have worked for her to get plush endorsement campaigns with international brands, she comes across too hip for the Indian masses. So Karan has asked her to lock away all designer gowns and start appearing in public in casual jeans and t-shirts,” says a source. Sonam is apparently so keen on shopping that she has volunteered to go with Manish Malhotra (who will be designing her clothes for ‘I Hate Love Stories’) to shop for her wardrobe in the film.
