Ex-Oz rugby star Tom Carter says 'determined' Brad Haddin almost quit international cricket

Sydney: Former NSW Waratahs rugby star Tom Carter has revealed that Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin was on the cusp of quitting international cricket earlier this year as he had doubts regarding his physical abilities to continue playing at the top level.

Carter said that Haddin approached him after the T20 World Cup by saying that he was feeling very tired and was unsure about his future journey. According to him, he feels very fortunate that someone at 37 who has achieved so much in the game was so willing to try making themselves so much better again, News.com.au reported.

He further said that they have been working for the last couple of weeks to try and help him get back for the Test and hopefully he becomes the 45th Test captain for Australia. Haddin is really determined to reimpose himself, he added.

After switching to a new fitness regime and outlook, Haddin feels his body has changed and never felt better in years, he added.
