Lahore: Pakistan`s flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi says it feels good to back in the national team as the side is more positive than before under the guidance of interim coach Mohsin Khan.
Afridi, returning home after playing in the one-day series in Bangladesh, told reporters that Mohsin had done a good job in handling the team.
Afridi had retired temporarily protesting against the PCB administration but was brought back after Zaka Ashraf took over recently.
"Mohsin communicates well with the players, treats the seniors with respect and manages things well. It felt good to play for Pakistan again in a more positive and cheery environment," Afridi said.
The former captain`s remarks were in direct contrast to what he had said in recent months when Waqar Younis was head coach of the team.
Afridi had blamed Waqar for creating problems within the team and not providing a conducive environment for players to give their best.
Waqar stepped down as head coach in September after the tour to Zimbabwe for personal and health reasons.
The board appointed former chief selector Mohsin as interim coach and is yet to announce a permanent staff with the team with questions being raised over whether Mohsin will be retained for the coming series against England.
Afridi put his weight behind Mohsin and also praised the leadership of captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
"I think winning has given the players lot of confidence and they have got the momentum. A win is a win no matter what the opposition," he said.
