London: TV bosses have dismissed reports that they wanted to recast Mischa Barton`s character in ‘The Beautiful Life’, stating they had ‘no issues’ with her stint in hospital. The former ‘OC’ star was allegedly placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last month after reportedly suffering a meltdown.
She was discharged from hospital after a week of treatment and headed back to the set to resume her role, reports the Daily Star. Reports suggested that executives at US network The CW were making plans to replace Barton, who is set to play a supermodel in the new series, with a new female character. However, programming chief Dawn Ostroff has downplayed claims network bosses wanted to replace Barton. And Ashton Kutcher, one of the executive producers on the new drama series, backed up Ostroff: "(Mischa) was never unavailable for a day of work... Mischa`s in New York working today." ANI
