HILARIOUS! Mustafizur Rahman reveals the reason behind his nickname ‘Fizz’

New Delhi: Mustafizur Rahman did not harm to his growing reputation in his debut Indian Premier League season with the SunRisers Hyderabad.

The Bangladesh pacer was an indispensable asset to David Warner's side throughout the tournament.

While the back of his shirt read Mustafiz, teammates, fans and commentators referred to the left-armer as "Fizz'' on several occasions.

On his return to Bangladesh after the IPL, Mustafiz finally revealed the reason behind his unique nickname.

“Hathurusinghe (Chandika) gave me the name. Mustafizur Rahman name is a bit big. That’s why coach gave me this name. One day, I did not see my name in a training session, but I saw Fizz. The coach said that it’s my name,” told ATN news.

He also stated that the two months in India took a toll on him.

“My mind was crying for my country before, now for my parents and friends,” he further added.

The 20-year-old picked up 17 wickets from 16 matches at an economy rate of 6.90 in the IPL.

Apart from Warner's batting, Mustafizur's exceptional performance with the ball was a major reason behind SRH's victorious march.
