How Yuvraj Singh helped Axar Patel deal with criticism

New Delhi: Team India's all-rounder Axar Patel on Thursday credited Yuvraj Singh for helping him deal with mounting criticism.

While ODI skipper MS Dhoni asked him to improve his batting, legendary opening batsman stated that the Gujarat lad was not good enough to play Test cricket.

The 21-year-old appears to have been motivated by his critics.

Patel was already bagged 13 wickets in the ongoing Vijay Hazare trophy and scored 197 runs.

“I know my batting is not poor, so my focus now is not to play rash shots,” the youngster told Times of India.

“Yuvi paa had told me to build a positive atmosphere around myself. He said that there will be critics,” he further added.

From Gurkeerat Singh to Axar Patel, most young cricketers continue to speak highly about the World Cup winner for helping improve their game.
