Hussey backs Ponting to fire in Perth Test

Sydney: Michael Hussey has backed veteran Ricky Ponting to overcome the slump in his form against world number one South Africa in the series-deciding final Test match at Perth.

Hussey said it is unfair to question Ponting`s batting credential since he has proven himself throughout his long career. "I just think it`s crazy to doubt someone like Ricky Ponting. He`s an absolute champion. It`s just the nature of this game. Sometimes little things don`t go your way," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hussey, as saying. "He got a couple of fantastic deliveries that would get anybody out. The good thing is he`s still in a positive frame of mind, he`s still working hard," he added. ANI
