Porvorim: Visitors Hyderabad thrashed Goa by an innings and 157 runs to garner six points in the Ranji Trophy Plate `B` league match on Thursday.
After taking a huge first innings lead of 261, Hyderabad bowled out the hosts for 104 in their second innings with pacers Anwar Ahmed (4-47) and Kanishk Naidu (4-16) sharing the spoils.
Swapnil Asnodkar top-scored for the hosts, who could manage only 147 in their first innings, with 24.
Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 298/6, Hyderabad scored 408 in their first innings with unbeaten batsmen Ibraheem Khaleel 94 (224b, 4x9) and Kanishk Naidu 50 (146b, 4x5) adding 73 runs for the seventh wicket.
Khaleel was unfortunate to miss out on an opportunity to score a century by six runs when he was trapped in front by Saurabh Bandekar.
The Goan attack lacked sting in the absence of skipper Shadab Jakati, who is out with an injury.
Bandekar was the most successful bowler for them as he ended with figures of 4-98.
With this win, Hyderabad increased their tally to 15 points from four matches, while Goa remained on nine points from four matches.
Brief scores: Goa 147 and 104 (S Asnodkar 24; Anwar Ahmed 4-47, Kanishk Naidu 4-16) lost to Hyderabad 408 ((Akshath Reddy 118, Ibraheem Khaleel 94; S Bandekar 4-98).
