SCORECARD» | COMMENTARY» ==================================================================================== Pakistan innings: Over 45|| Score 167/10 Mclaren struck twice in his eighth over and picked the wickets of Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan as Pakistan were bundled for just 167 runs and South Africa won the match by 67 runs. Tsotsobe got the important wicket of Misbah who failed to pick a slower one and hit it straight to midwicket. Wahab Riaz scored a couple of boundaries against Phangiso who had the last laugh as he bowled him. Pakistan once again paid for playing slow in the initial ten overs, and the Proteas have registered a comprehensive victory, their first of the tournament. Just three balls later, Kamran Akmal was the next to go as Faf du Plessis took a good catch at backward point as the ball travelled to him quickly. In the next over bowled by Peterson, Misbah clobbered a six off the first ball of the over and also brought his half-century off 72 balls. Wahab Riaz is the new man in and though he can bat, Misbah will have to take most of the strike from here onwards and Pakistan also need some luck to go their way. Pakistan now need 94 runs to win from the last ten overs, South Africa just need four wickets to seal the game! Kamran Akmal c du Plessis b McLaren 0 (2b) Umar Amin c Ingram b McLaren 16 (29b) ==================================================================================== Over 30 || Score 93/4 Tsotsobe dismissed Nasir Jamshed in his sixth over when the left-hander worked one straight towards the bowler who was quick enough to grab it on time. Jamshed and Misbah added 48 runs for the fourth wicket. Misbah is once again looking comfortable at the crease, the boundaries aren’t coming at ease but as well all know Misbah can score them at will. Umar Amin is the new batsman at the crease. 31 runs scored in the last ten overs. Nasir Jamshed c & b Tsotsobe 42 (76b) ==================================================================================== Over 20 || Score 52/3 The Pakistani batsmen once again have been at sea. A scrappy innings from Shoaib Malik came to an end when an off-spinner from Duminy spun from the rough area and hit his stumps. Nasir Jamshed is once again at the crease with their saviour Misbah-ul-Haq who has come to the crease, yet once again to rescue the sinking ship. 34 runs scored in the last ten overs. Pakistan are wobbling. Shoaib Malik b Duminy 8 (29b) ==================================================================================== Over 10 || Score 18/2 It was once again a slow start by Pakistan and their openers lacked confidence as Chris Morris dismissed both Farhat and Hafeez for low scores. Morris struck in his first over as his straight delivery uprooted Farhat’s off-stump. Hafeez on the other hand was lured by a slightly short ball and he mistimed the pull straight to Miller at square leg. Tsotsobe hasn’t picked up a wicket so far but has built pressure from the other end. Just 18 from the first ten overs. South Africa would be disappointed with this effort as at one stage they were looking to reach a big total. Ab de Villiers (31) and JP Duminy (24) were both run-out at crucial intervals after which none of the batsmen managed to stay at the crease for long. Chris Morris and Aaron Phangiso were the other two batsmen who were run-out in the last over. Pakistan would be very happy with their effort in the field as four batsmen were run-out. They have the line-up to chase this one only if they don’t bat like they didn’t against West Indies in their previous match. Amla attempted a reverse-sweep and the ball bounced more than what he had expected and went to short third man where Hafeez took a well judged catch. Since his dismissal, AB and Duminy have added 38 runs as the Proteas scored 49 runs in the last ten. With ten overs remaining, South Africa would be eyeing anything between 270 to 280. HM Amla c Mohammad Hafeez b Saeed Ajmal 81 (97b) ==================================================================================== Over 30 || Score 134/2 Proteas have added 56 runs in the last five overs. They lost the wicket of du Plessis who was surprised by some extra bounce from Irfan and handed over an easy catch to Shoaib Malik at cover. Amla is playing another brilliant knock and is currently batting on 79. AB de Villiers is the new man at the crease. F du Plessis c Shoaib Malik b Mohammad Irfan 28 (40b) ==================================================================================== Over 20 || Score 78/1 Mohammad Hafeez got the first breakthrough for his side as Ingram missed a sweep shot and the ball hit him on the knee. That ended the 53-run stand for the first wicket. It was a slow knock but Ingram has got his side to a decent start. While Amla gets more comfortable at the crease, the Proteas should to score a big score from here onwards. Faf du Plessis is the new batsman at the crease. Both Hashim Amla and Collin Ingram have stitched in an unbeaten 36 runs in the first ten overs. Pakistani bowlers have impressed but they haven’t managed to get their first breakthrough so far. ==================================================================================== After losing their first match against India, South Africa would come with all guns blazing against Pakistan who are equally desperate for their first victory in the tournament.
