Though it proved to be a successful one as she removed Stafanie Taylor caught& bowled. Off the first delivery, Taylor, edged one to first slip where Lanning seemd to have taken a good low catch. However, the umpires went upstairs and after a really long discussion gave it as a not out. After two false starts, she finally releases the ball in their third attempt. She looked a bit concern. They put on a quick-fire 50-run partnership in 40 balls giving Australia the momentum going into the break. The match has swung about and at one stage it looked like the batting team could reach a hefty 280, but some tidy bowling meant the score, in spite of a late surge by the Aussies, just about reaches 260. Fields starts the over with a four before taking a single. Perry then grabs a couple of boundaries, one four and a neat six over midwicket to end the over, and spoils Mohammed's figures in her final over. She ends with 1-61 off her 10 overs, going for 15 in that last one. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Score: 227/7 II Overs: 47 (Fields 21*, Perry 8*) A steady over by Campbelle which goes for a run a ball. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Score: 220/7 II Overs: 46 (Fields 18*, Perry 5*) Mohammed's 9th turns out to be quite the eventful over. First ball is driven excellently by the Aussie captain for an elegant four. The next ball saw a mix-up between the two Aussies, yielding no run and a run out chance which didn't quite materialise for the Windies. Next ball is a poor full toss hit to square leg who dives, and it's at a good even height, but fails to hold on. Saved four runs perhaps? Fields sweeps one for four thanks to a poor full-toss from Kyshona Knight, who's back into the attack, bowling her third over. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Score: 199/6 II Overs: 42 (Fields 5*, Osborne 5*) A couple of silent overs and we're into the slog overs already. But an otherwise good over by Taylor. Daley's back to finish her final two overs and the first ball is swept in the air to the backward square leg boundary by a confident Cameron. But a couple of balls later she goes for another big one, but fails to clear Kyshona at deep mid wicket who takes a safe and comfortable catch. Last time I said this a wicket fell. Aussie fans are telling me to just shut the heavens up! Cameron, though, slams another four to move on to a run-a-ball 71. A century firmly in sights now and she deserves it too. The second powerplay, meanwhile, comes into effect. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Score: 169/3 II Overs: 33.5 (Sthalekar 11*, Cameron 64*) These little misfields aren't helping the West Indians one bit. Not like misfields ever help any team. But that one at cover-point by Smartt, who's having an absolutely awful day by the way, has given Sthalekar her first boundary. A couple of balls later, Smartt misfields again and then limps to a halt. She looks in pain and the physio takes her off. My heart gos out to her. She's had an all-round shocker and that's been compounded with a painful injury. Can't quite tell what's the matter though. Not yet in any case. Hope she recovers and gets back on the field. She'd gotten 1 for 43 off just 5 overs. Way too expensive and her line was wayward too. Mohammed slows the pace, of the ball and the runs. ==================================================================================== AUSTRALIA Score: 154/3 II Overs: 31 (Sthalekar 2*, Cameron 58*) Typo-sounding Sthalekar gets off the mark and Cameron hits Daley for a four now as the Aussies are taking a strong step forward. A good spell of play for the women in yellow here. Smartt's gone for 19 in that over with Cameron smashing her for a four and two sixes, the first of which was on yet another free-hit. The no-ball trouble continues for Smartt, as does her poor game so far. The six to end the over was exquisite, Cameron lifting it stright over the bowlers head and beyond the ropes. Great shot! What a way to bring up her fifty. She's on 53 off 57 balls now. Smartt came back into the attack looking to make up for a poor first spell where she not only went for too many runs, but also struggled with keeping her foot behind the crease while three no-balls. A few widish deliveries later she bowls peach of a delivery just outside the off stump and Blackwell edges it through to the keeper. It's been slow, at around 4 runs per over, but they need to make it count now that they've played themselves in. Haynes, on her part, has brought up her fifty as well. She started slowly but has gained in confidence. Speaking of confidence, Cameron lofted one back over the Kyshona's head for four to end the over. Fine shot that!
