ICC World T20: Perfect mix of world class performers makes India hot favourites, says Virender Sehwag

New Delhi: After Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Kevin Pietersen, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has also put his money on India for the upcoming ICC World T20, which is scheduled to start from March 8.

Sehwag, who bid adieu to international cricket last year, feels that India have a perfect blend of world class performers, which makes them the likely contenders to win the coveted ICC trophy.

“India have a perfect mix of world class performers and that makes them hot favourites at the upcoming World Twenty20.

"We have batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra and spin attack of Jadeja and Ashwin. I think, India are the favourites for the competition," Sehwag was quoted as saying by PTI.

Sehwag heaped praise on opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

"They have become a good pair and if they stay there for first seven or eight overs, nobody can stop India," added Sehwag.

Sehwag seems delighted with the way his old friend Ashish Nehra is performing, especially in the initial overs of the match.

"After his (Nehra's) performance in the last IPL, he has been included in the national team and he has been doing better, especially taking wickets in early overs. I think, he will play well, like he did it along with Zaheer Khan in the 2011 World Cup," he said.
