ICC World Twenty20: Pakistan warm-up match with Bengal cancelled; Australia, Sri Lanka Lanka arrive

New Delhi: Defending champions Sri Lanka and Australia arrived for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 on Friday as per schedule.

Australia, looking for their maiden World T20 trophy, will play their lone warm-up match against the West Indies on March 13 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Fresh from their 3-1 T20 series win in South Africa, record five-time World Cup champions Australia arrived early morning in Kolkata via Dubai.

However, Pakistan's first warm-up match against Bengal tomorrow has been cancelled due to the delay in travel clearance.

They will take on Sri Lanka on Sunday in their warm-up game ahead of the marquee tournament.

The uncertainty over Pakistan's participation in the tournament finally ended today after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) got government clearance to travel to India following assurances of security from the host nation.

"The team will fly out tonight for Dubai and onwards to Kolkata," confirmed PCB chairman Najam Sethi.
