Wasim Akram: Virat Kohli is world's best batsman, plays with authority in all formats

New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has said that India's Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world at the moment.

Akram also hailed the right-hander's ability to bat with authority in all formats of the game.

“Kohli is the best batsman in the world. There comes a time in a batsman’s life, where you learn how to score runs. He plays with authority in all three formats. It’s difficult to bowl at him. I would have found it very difficult to bowl at him,” Akram was quoted as saying in a report in The Express Tribune.

The legendary pacer credited India for their recent performances, but said it was difficult to brand any one team as the clear favorite to win the ICC World T20.

“India have been playing very well and they have some of the most experienced T20 players in the world. But it’s difficult to predict winners in the T20 format,” he further added,

The Delhi batsman has been in sparkling form in 2016, scoring consistently in Australia and then the Asia Cup.
