World Twenty20 2016: Security increased further as India join Australia, Pakistan in Mohali

New Delhi: The security has been beefed up further in Chandigarh and Mohali after the Indian cricket team arrived to join Australia and Pakistan for the ongoing ICC World Twenty20 matches being played in Mohali.

The Indian team led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni arrived on Thursday. They will be playing against Australia in a crucial encounter on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Pakistan and Australia are playing against each other in a Super 10 Group 2 match on Friday.

According to officials, all the respective teams are staying in different hotels. They also stated that additional forces have been deployed in and around the cricket stadium and the hotels.

Commandos and SWAT personnel alongside policemen in plain clothes have been keeping a strict look out in and around the areas of both cities.

A police offcial also said that vehicles are being thoroughly checked as well.
