Ignored by PCB, is Junaid Khan contemplating playing for England? Here's the truth

New Delhi: Despite being one of the best pacers available in the country, left-arm seamer Junaid Khan has been ignored by the Pakistan Cricket Board for quite some time now.

Khan, who has 71 Test wickets to his name, has once again been excluded for the upcoming England tour.

The Matra-born bowler, who was also a part of army led fitness boot camp in Kakul recently, failed to impress new chief coach Inzamam-ul-Haq, who said he didn't look in rhythm.

Upset with the snub, Junaid’s family member raised concerns and told The Express Tribune, “Junaid feels hurt after being constantly ignored by the selectors and is looking to permanently settle in England.” They also added, “He thinks that he is being treated unjustly and therefore feels it is better for him to play his cricket in England where his talent is respected and valued.”

Miffed with multiple rejections, Junaid too said, “I don’t know why I’ve been overlooked. It’s demoralising for me and I feel heartbroken.”

However, he later refuted all those reports claiming he was looking to permanently settle in England and play for The Three Lions.

“There is no truth in any such claim,” he was quoted as saying by Dawn.com.

Khan has already played for county teams - Lancashire and Middlesex in the past, impressing on both occasions. His wife already lives in England.
