India likely to go ahead with tour of Zimbabwe with second-string team: Report

New Delhi: Despite several doubts being raised about cancelation of India's tour of Zimbabwe, the upcoming away series is most likely to take place as per the schedule, according to a report.

As per a report published by ESPN Cricinfo, officials from both the boards – Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) – are ironing out last-minute details about the tour on the sidelines of the ongoing ICC annual conference in Barbados.

"They are still talking. [But] it should be fine. We are making progress," an official privy to discussions in Barbados, told the cricket based website.

For Team India, it would be their last cricket series of the season, and they are expected to send a second string team for the tour.

If both the boards decide to go with the scheduled chocked out earlier then India will play three ODIs and two Twenty20 between July 10 to 19.

The series came under scanner when Indian board reportedly showed its dissatisfaction over broadcasting rights of the series.

If the report is to be believed, then a formal confirmation on the tour is awaited in the coming days once the top officials from BCCI and ZC conclude their discussions.
