LIVE SCORECARD || MATCH REPORT

ENGLAND INNINGS

OVERS 46.5// RUNS 201// WICKETS 7

England win by three wickets. Taylor scored a well made 82 and Buttler made 67 runs respectively and handed England the match and a place in the finals. India were dismal with bat and that did them in. They also got little help from Jadeja who was poor today in all aspects and leaked runs.

OVERS 39// RUNS 154// WICKETS 5

Shami continues and Taylor has pulled the ball towards mid-wicket for two runs. A single then comes off the last five balls. Axar is getting on with his overs pretty quickly. The first three balls are dots and then Taylor gets a four. He then follows it with a two as six runs come.

OVERS 37// RUNS 145// WICKETS 5

Power play has been taken and Shami gets the ball. Taylor gets a single before Buttler defends the rest of the over. He mixes the ball well in the over. Patel then rolls his arms and gives away three singles. 56 runs to get for England and you fancy them to get it.

OVERS 35// RUNS 141// WICKETS 5

Axar is brought back and nothing is happening meanwhile as the English duo are having it pretty easy at the crease. Six runs come from his over. England are sailing along.

OVERS 34// RUNS 135// WICKETS 5

Mohit bowls a decent over with just three runs coming from the over. England will be happy here rotating the strike and s there is no hurry. Taylor has got to his fifty and in this pressure situation, this is a knock of substance. Jadeja continues and there isn't much help from him. Four runs come. England will be really happy.

OVERS 32// RUNS 128// WICKETS 5

Mohit Sharma is brought back into the attack and the Haryana pacer is hit for a four with Buttler looking solid here in the middle. Six runs come from the over before Jadeja concedes three singles. England need 70 odd runs and India need 5 wickets.

OVERS 30// RUNS 119// WICKETS 5

Shami's over has looked pretty ordinary as he is varying in line and length and the batsmen are getting easy singles. Axar replaces Jadeja and Taylor gets a two off the backfoot before Buttler sweeps and a top edge gives two more runs. Jadeja is brought from the other end and the same issue continues for him. Buttler guides a loose delivery for four as eight runs come. The required runs have gone down and England are doing well here with James and Buttler. 50-run partnership is made between the two. Can India get quick wickets?

OVERS 27// RUNS 101// WICKETS 5

Shami gives away five runs including a wide from a bouncer. Jadeja then gives another boundary to Buttler as England bring up their 100. India need to break the partnership and Dhoni needs to be spot on with selections here. England duo have added 35 runs in quick pace.

OVERS 25// RUNS 92// WICKETS 5

Credit goes to Taylor here for getting England going. He is in the 30's and Buttler is giving good company. Shami comes in and four runs come from the over. Jadeja has been the weak link in India's bowling line-up. He has looked ordinary as batsmen are getting easy runs off his bowling and MS Dhoni needs a different plan here. India need wickets here as the required runs aren't many.

OVERS 23// RUNS 82// WICKETS 5

Jadeja is brought in and he concedes four singles from his first over. Binny then continues and Taylor and Buttler rotate strike to get three singles before the latter gets a boundary. Jadeja then bowls a simple over with both batsmen getting singles at will.

OVERS 20// RUNS 66// WICKETS 5

Axar concedes eight runs from his over that included a boundary through the off side from James Taylor. Binny then gives three runs as Bopara drives through covers and a extra throw results in another run. Taylor gives strike back to Bopara and well Binny has another wicket. Bopara plays a loose shot away from the off stump and offers a simple catch to Jadeja at point.

RS Bopara c Jadeja b Binny 4 (6b)

OVERS 18// RUNS 54// WICKETS 4

Axar allows Taylor to hit a boundary off a sweep shot as six runs come from the over and England's 50 runs come up. Next over Binny gets Morgan. The English skipper tries to work a ball through the leg side and it takes a leading edge to mid on.

EJG Morgan c Dhawan b Binny 2 (13b)

OVERS 16// RUNS 46// WICKETS 3

Patel continues with a tidy over giving away just a single. Morgan is the new man in and alongside Taylor needs to get into a partnership. Binny continues and a close LBW appeal is turned down. Replays showed the ball pitched outside the line. Good decision by the umpire.

OVERS 14// RUNS 44// WICKETS 3

Moeen Ali plays a nothing shot and gets himself out. He charges down the track and finds Rayudu at long on who takes a smart catch. Axar gets the wicket. Root comes in and he gets vital three runs off Binny as the latter drifts towards leg stump. Taylor gives the strike backs to Root and well he departs after driving a shot straight to Binny who claims a caught and bowl.

JE Root c & b Binny 3 (2b)

MM Ali c Rayudu b Patel 17 (34b)

OVERS 12// RUNS 40// WICKETS 1

Ali and Taylor have looked like they are putting a price on their wicket. Ali has been the leader here and has hit a boundaries and has also got an edge that fell short of the slip fielder. Shami has bowled well and so has Sharma. Axar and Binny are sharing the ball now. India need wickets.

OVERS 4// RUNS 15// WICKETS 1

Binny starts with the bowling and Bell hits a four through covers. Mohit then holds the line and bowls a decent second over giving just one run. Binny then bowls again and well another four comes from Bell's bat as he caresses through the off side for four. Binny has looked ordinary here. Next over Mohit gets Bell with a ball that kept low and a LBW decision is given. Taylor comes in.

IR Bell lbw b Sharma 10 (13b)

So India finish on 200. Dismal performance by the batsmen and it showed lack of application and productivity. England need 201 runs to win from 50 overs with just four runs per over to get.

OVERS 48.1// RUNS 200// WICKETS 10

Shami scores some vital runs towards the end as India touch the 200-run mark. Woakes gets the last wicket as Shami tries to create room and play a shot but finds Buttler. Woakes gets the wicket.

Mohammed Shami c Buttler b Woakes 25 (18b)

OVERS 47// RUNS 190// WICKETS 9

Another wicket falls and this time it is the inexperienced Axar Patel. Finn gets the wicket. Shami comes in and gets a four. Broad then concedes seven runs in the next over with Sharma getting a vital four of the last ball. Woakes then concedes 13 runs as Shami takes the center-stage. A six and a four is hit in the over. Can India get to 200?

AR Patel c Bell b Finn 1 (5b)

OVERS 44// RUNS 165// WICKETS 8

Aki finishes his spell with just giving 35 runs from 10 overs. Anderson strucks Dhoni on the helmet and then in the same over gets him for LBW. Broad then gets Jadeja as India throw it all away. What a collapse and with World Cup looming, it is a sorry sight for any Indian cricket fan. On paper they bat deep but in reality the entire team looks highly inexperienced. India have lost last five wickets for just 30 runs. Mohit is the new man in.

RA Jadeja c Finn b Broad 5 (9b)

MS Dhoni lbw b Anderson 17 (32b)

OVERS 41// RUNS 160// WICKETS 6

Binny gets a four off Woakes after playing a flick through mid-wicket. Finn then presses Dhoni as he doesn't allow any runs to come. Broad gives away two boundaries to the3 Indian skipper in the next over. A rare run scoring over after quite a while. Finn then gets the wicket of Binny who offers a catch to Bell at slips. Nice hold that. Dhoni then gets a boundary after getting an edge. Anderson has been brought back and well he doesn't allow anything. Jadeja's lofted pull shot falls short off Finn at deep fine leg and three runs come from the over.

STR Binny c Bell b Finn 7 (12b)

OVERS 36// RUNS 136// WICKETS 5

Powerplay has been taken and Finn gets the ball. Rahane tries to run a ball towards third man and offers a catch to Buttler. He departs for 73 runs. India stutters at 136/5.

AM Rahane c Buttler b Finn 73 (101b)

OVERS 35// RUNS 134// WICKETS 4

Moeen Ali has been brilliant as Indian batsmen have been in utter despair. Rahane is the lone spark who gets 11 runs from a Broad over which had a four and a six. Ali then gives just three runs.  Another wicket goes this time and it is Ambati Rayudu. Loose shot outside the off stump off Broad and England are favourites here. All four batsmen have played loose shots to get out. Dhoni in and he looks unconvincing.

AT Rayudu c Buttler b Broad 12 (17b)

OVERS 31// RUNS 116// WICKETS 3

Moeen Ali is on fire here. Raina plays a similar shot that he got out against the spinner in Brisbane ODI after dancing down the track. This time he edges to short third man. What a waste of a player Raina is. India stuttering now. Broad then gives away a four to Rahane who slaps down the track.

SK Raina c Woakes b Ali 1 (5b)

OVERS 29// RUNS 106// WICKETS 2

Three runs come from Finn's over. India are failing to get momentum here. Meanwhile Moeen Ali gets another wicket against India. Virat Kohli charges down the track and gifts a catch to Joe Root at long off. Kohli departs for just 8 runs. Finn then does not allow Rahane anything. The Morgan led side have shut down India's run rate. It will take a monumental effort from here on to get a decent score for India. One run comes from Finn's over.

V Kohli c Root b Ali 8 (19b)

OVERS 26// RUNS 100// WICKETS 1

Seventeen runs have come in the last five overs. Moeen Ali has done a good job for England to keep the run check tight. Rahane meanwhile, has got to his fifty. India are looming under four runs an over which suggests scoring on the wicket hasn't been easy. England are on top here still. Woakes has been very effective for England.

OVERS 21// RUNS 83// WICKETS 1

Moeen Ali is introduced and he continues to impress against India. Just two runs come from the over. Finn then concedes six runs with singles produced from all deliveries. Good runs here. Ali then gives away a boundary to Rahane who gets a thick edge towards third man for four. Dhwan then plays a shot away from his body and edges to Buttler. He departs and Kohli comes in. Wicket maiden from Stokes.

S Dhawan c Buttler b Woakes 38 (65b)

OVERS 17// RUNS 67// WICKETS 0

India have got off to a very good start. Rahane survives a run-out chance off Broad from his own bowling and a throw results in a single. Dhawan then gets a tight single. Rahane plays through mid-wicket for a single. Broad then bowls a very good bouncer. Finn continues and Dhawan gets a run through the off side for a single. Rahane then pulls a short ball for one. Dhawan calls for a single and is denied.

OVERS 15// RUNS 61// WICKETS 0

India bringing up their fifty. Slow but effective start this given the conditions. Finn comes in and both batsmen rotate strike to get four runs. Broad then bowls a good over before Dhawan gets a four through the off-side. Finn continues and Rahane gets a single through mid-wicket. Dhawan gets a close shave off a LBW appeal. Erasmus the umpire doesn't give the decision as it may have pitched outside the line and could have got the inside edge as well. He then gets a four through the off-side. Two runs come from the last ball.

OVERS 12// RUNS 44// WICKETS 0

India have seen the first twelve overs of the match well here. Not many runs on the scorecard but they will be happy. England have used the conditions well. Woakes and Anderson bowls well again before Broad gives away a boundary. Rahane hits through the off-side for four. Anderson then follows it with just two runs. Broad continues and Rahane gets two runs through the leg side. He then calls Dhawan for a short run. Dhawan then gets an inside edge for four. Lucky break that. Eight runs come.

OVERS 7// RUNS 20// WICKETS 0

Woakes concedes five runs from his over which sees three quick singles after defensive shots and two runs guided through to third man. Anderson then bowls a maiden after Dhawan fails to get anything out from a superb over. Rahane them makes room and plays a shot high up over through mid-off for two runs. Dhawan then gets a welcome boundary slashing one past point for four. Nine runs come. Anderson then concedes just two runs as England have got off to a very good start here.

OVERS 3// RUNS 4// WICKETS 0

James Anderson starts off well here. Nice line and length and gives nothing away. Rahane beaten and and also plays some soft handed shots. One run comes from the over. Woakes starts at the other end and well he too bowls perfectly. Dhawan gets a leading edge off a bouncer but that misses to reach the gully fielder. After that he nearly runs himself out as Woakes misses a chance to hit the stumps. Two run comes from the over. Anderson then concedes a run after Rahane misses the edge once again. Good stuff this!

England have won the toss and decided to bowl first.

India (Playing XI): Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina,MS Dhoni(w/c), Stuart Binny, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma.

England (Playing XI): Ian Bell, Moeen Ali, James Taylor, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan(c), Ravi Bopara,Jos Buttler(w), Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Steven Finn.

PREVIEW:  India are is a desperate situation to get things right against England. All focus will be on the openers, especially the out of sorts, Shikhar Dhawan. They need to win the game and that will take them to the finals. England who to need a win, beat the Indians comfortably when both teams met earlier. The trump card will be Ian Bell and the pace attack who can trouble India.

India's side still looks like an experimented one and the chosen XI, will look to play an important role. The bowling has been very poor so far and the pacers need to step up the game. Major role for Binny here too, to cement his spot. And a fight between Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja too will be key as they will bowl together.

England will rely heavily on their pace attack upfront and will look to cease in the friendly pace pitch to trouble India's batsmen.
