Australian innings
A quickfire 36 and fifties from Mike Hussey and Peter Forrest helped Australia post a challenging total of 288/5 against India in the 7th ODI of the ongoing tri-series on Sunday.
Fielding four fast bowlers on a pitch favouring fast bowlers, India couldn`t stop Australia, whose batsmen were going through a rough patch in the series, from making a fighting total.
Indians lost the grip after the first 5 overs which they could never regain throughout the innings. And the dropped catches didn`t help the cause either. Michael Hussey was the chief architect, who tormented Indian bowlers who were kind enough to miss catches couple of his catches.
The 36-year-old completed his 6th ODI fifty after scoring 59 runs off 52 balls. Hussey, along with Peter Forrest, completed a 100-run partnership and towed Australia out of danger zone.
Forrest made 52 off 71 balls to complete his second fifty of the series and made way for David Hussey and Daniel Christian to finish the innings in style. Christian`s 30 came from 18 balls, while D Hussey scored 26 off 20 balls.
Earlier, after opting to bat first Australian openers made a low key start and gave the team best start of the series. Off-colour Warner and Matthew Wade missed out on half centuries. Ponitng continued his patchy batting when he gifted his wicket to Zaheer Khan`s, the only wicket for Zak of the innings, scoring just 7.

Over 37.2: DROPPED!! Hussey survived after a catch was dropped by Umesh Yadav off Zaheer. This could prove costly! Hussey stepped down and slapped this fuller one flat to mid off, Umesh mistimed the jump and couldn`t hold on to it overhead, the ball popped out of his hands and rolled to the ground.
Over 36: Australia were 154/3 after 36 overs with batting powerplay in place taken in the previous over.
Over 28.3: Comedy of errors!! Mike Hussey was called back after giving out for a stumping appeal. Reason: The third umpire pressed the wrong button (out of two buttons). He first signalled out but the on field umpires called Hussey back.
