India vs England 2014: Can MS Dhoni`s men fight against all odds to level series?

The momentum for sure lies with England, but only if India can play with the fighting intent, there is no reason why they cannot level the series at The Oval.

New Delhi: They might have lost two consecutive Tests in the most humiliating manner, but as India take on England in the final Test at the Oval, MS Dhoni and his boys need to remain positive and believe that they can still bounce back in the series. India started the five-match series on a confident note and after playing a draw in the first Test, they came up with an even better performance at Lord`s, a ground where they registered a win after 28 years. But Team India has lacked the fighting spirit since then and have thrown away the momentum. India has a formidable batting line-up in Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane. Opening has been a concern for India right throughout the series and only if Gautam Gambhir can spend some time at the wicket, India can entertain chances of seeing through the first session, which has been a major concern for them so far. The middle-order needs to try and spend as much time as they can at the crease, rather than being dismissed off careless strokes. The batsmen should ensure not to let Moeen Ali dominate the proceedings, which has been the case so far in the series. The Indian seamers have impressed so far in the series and despite his rough patch in the series, Dhoni should play Mohammed Shami along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pankaj Singh and Ishant Sharma. The momentum for sure lies with the hosts, but only if India can play with the fighting intent, there is no reason why they cannot level the series at The Oval.
