India were crowned champions of Test series against England after winning the 4th match in Mumbai which saw skipper Virat Kohli securing his career best 235.

New Delhi: India's Test team has experienced a thrilling upturn in form since for the last year-and-a-half with 2016 set to end on the brightest note in their history.

With the series win against England, the Virat Kohli-led team has won all three Test series they played this year. A draw or win in the Chennai Test would mean India will end the year unbeaten in the traditional format of the game.

Under Kohli's captaincy, team India's performance has been so outstanding that they have now become invincible at home, and have had brilliant results oversees too.

India became the No.1 Test team in the world after defeating New Zealand 3-0 in September and presently lead the the standings with 115 points ahead of England (105), and Australia (105) points.

India have previously been on top of the table from November 2009 to August 2011 and then briefly during January-February 2016 and now since August.

Team India started it's 2016 Test campaign with the West Indies tour and then welcomed New Zealand and England on home soil.
