India vs New Zealand 2016: Virat Kohli becomes first Indian cricketer to score two double centuries as captain

Indore: Indian Test captain Virat Kohli added yet another feather to his cap as he became the first Indian captain to score two double centuries in the traditional format.

The stylish Delhi batsman achieved the feat on Day 2 of the final Test against New Zealand.

After a quiet series so far, Kohli had slammed his 13th Test ton on the opening day of the third Test match against Kane Williamson and his men.

Kohli, who was unbeaten on 103 at stumps on opening day, took a single against Matt Henry to achieve the landmark.

It was a flawless innings from the right-hander, as he didn't play a single stroke in the air and won massive praise from cricket fraternity for his patience and quality of strokes.

Earlier this year, Kohli slammed 200 runs against West Indies on their home soil.

Resuming play at 167/3, Kohli and Rahane pummeled Kiwi bowlers to all parts of the ground as they stitched a 300-run stand for the fourth-wicket partnership.

At Tea on Day 2, India had already posted 456 runs on board with seven wickets remaining.
