India vs SA, 4th Test: DDCA approaches High Court in last ditch effort

New Delhi: With time running out, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) approached the High Court today.

This is a last ditch effort to retain the right to host fourth and final Test between India and South Africa by the cricket association.

The court is expected to hear DDCA's plea at 2 pm later in the day.

The Delhi government-appointed probe panel on alleged irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has recommended its suspension by the BCCI.

According to a report on CNN-BN, the three-member panel stated that the Indian board should replace the DDCA by a body of professional cricketers.

The panel further suggested that sports bodies like DDCA needed to be brought under the RTI.

Also, the panel was not satisfied by the BCCI's stand that there was no irregularity in cricket association.

This report is bound to have a detrimental effect on Delhi's chances of hosting the fourth and final Test between India and South Africa.

With the AAP refusing to soften its stand, its now looks likely that the BCCI will have to shift the Test to Pune.

DDCA are supposed to pay entertainment tax in excess of Rs 24 crore in order to get clearance for organizing the match.

It's believed that the report, which reportedly contains nearly 300 pages, listed complaints of financial and managerial irregularities, and examination of DDCA’s player selection process.
