It doesn't really matter whether Dale Steyn plays or not in 3rd Test: Virat Kohli

Kohli said he shared a good friendship with Steyn off the field but his presence or absence would make no difference to the team's mindset.

It doesn't really matter whether Dale Steyn plays or not in 3rd Test: Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli on Tuesday said that they are ready for the third Test and it hardly makes a difference whether South African speedster Dale Steyn will play in Nagpur or not.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Test, Kohli said, "We all have scored enough runs against him in the past. It does not make a difference whether he is playing or not. We treat everybody equally."

When asked whether he was closing to getting a settled combination for Tests, Kohli said that apart from the one slot of the all-rounder, there haven't been many changes by the team management.

"I feel in a Test side, according to the conditions, we should have a couple of all-rounders, one spin all-rounder, one seaming-all-rounder. We haven't really chopped and changed too much. That one slot should be decided according to the conditions. We might possibly make some changes according to the conditions," he added.

India have a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series against South Africa and the third Test will be played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur from Nov 25-29.
