New Delhi: 18 wickets fell on Day 3 of the Test match in Mohali as India beat South Africa by 108 runs on Saturday. The Indian spinning duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared eight wickets between them to dismiss the Proteas for 109 and ensured the hosts won the match.
Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three wickets and Jadeja took a five-for to hand a big blow to the visitors. After setting a target of 218 runs, India got the job done quickly as the Proteas kept losing wickets in a flurry.
S van Zyl scored 36 runs for South Africa as skipper Hashim Amla's poor run with the bat continued. India take a crucial 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
