Indian Premier League: Governing Council to meet on Friday ahead of players' auction

New Delhi: The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to meet in Mumbai on Friday ahead of the players' auction to be held on February 6.

According to reports, the IPL GC is expected to discuss the budget for the upcoming season commencing on April 8.

The IPL's governing panel is headed by Rajeev Shukla, with Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ajay Shirke, M P Pandove, Sourav Ganguly and all the office bearers of the BCCI, including secretary-convener, as its other members.

Earlier, 10 players were drafted by new franchises Team Pune and Rajkot on December 15, 2015 auction. The IPL had suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years.

The February 6 auctions is set to be big with players from both the suspended sides and others in the pool will hope to make the cut as teams will look to strengthen in several departments.
