Lahore: Making a comeback to game, former Pakistan captain and batting great Inzamam-ul-Haq has agreed to head the selection committee of the Lahore City Cricket Association.
The LCCA will select the regional under-19 teams for the upcoming domestic season. "Inzamam`s agreeing to accept our offer is really good for Lahore cricket because we need players of his calibre to work with us to scout out new talent," LCCA President Javed Ali said. Inzamam retired in 2007 and since then has kept away from mainstream cricket although he has appeared as an expert during the 2011 World Cup. He recently played in a club match in which his 12-year old son, Ibtisam also appeared with the father-son duo opening the innings. Javed said Inzamam had been given the responsibility of selecting the Lahore under-19 teams. "He has full authority to pick the players he thinks are best for Lahore. We trust his judgement," he said. Inzamam since his retirement has spent most of his time in promoting his business or in religious activities. He goes on preaching tours for long periods. PTI
