Dubai: We are into the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League, but Punjab franchise, Kings XI Punjab are still waiting for their maiden title. This time around, the franchise, co-owned by the Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, had retained just two players, Manan Vohra and David Miller, before the auction. Even in the auction, they picked their team quite sensibly and came up with a well balanced side in the end. Under the captaincy of Australian T20 skipper George Bailey, KXIP have won their first two matches. In both the matches, the team batted second and chased down mammoth targets successfully. On both the occasions, Australia`s destructive batsman Glenn Maxwell and South Africa`s finisher David Miller came to the rescue. If Maxwell played match-winning knocks at top of the order, then Maxwell played whirlwind knocks to made sure that his team won the games comprehensively. However, Maxwell missed his hundred on both the occasions, but for his power-packed innings of 95 and 89, he won consecutive Man of the Match awards. The right-hander is certainly giving the bowlers sleepless nights and is emerging as the biggest hitter in the League. At the moment, Maxwell is the holder of orange cap, with 184 runs under his belt, in mere two games. On the other hand, Miller has scored two back-to-back half-centuries and remained unbeaten on both the occasions. Currently, both of them are looking in sublime form and if they continue playing like this, it would be difficult for the other teams to contain KXIP from winning their maiden title.
