IPL: Four CSK players involved in fixing, claims Lalit Modi

New Delhi: Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner, Lalit Modi, claimed that at least four Chennai Super Kings (CSK) players were involved in fixing.

With reference to the Justice Mudgal Commitee report submitted to the SC, the creator of cash-rich League took to social micro-blogging site, Twitter, and stated that if they were to reveal the names of players involved, four of them are from CSK.

As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also conducting searches in and around Delhi in connection with its hawala probe against some betting syndicates allegedly related to IPL T-20 cricket matches, Modi also criticised the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) in regard to illegal betting quantum.

Modi stated that the likes of BCCI, Indian Premier League (IPL), Anurag Thakur and India Cements are trying to deceive the public in matters related to betting.

Referring to a media report, where ED sources have indicated that bets ranging from Rs 600 to 800 crore were being placed on every match in the ongoing season of the IPL, Modi claimed "9,000-10,000 crores per game" was the betting money on the cash-rich Twenty20 league.

IPL is in its 8th edition this year. Earlier, cricketer S Sreesanth of Rajasthan Royals was banned for life by the BCCI for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing during IPL 2013.
