IPL 2016: Kolkata Knight Riders' Yusuf Pathan slams Sunil Gavaskar for calling RCB's bowling line-up as 'popatwadi attack'

New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) middle-order batsman Yusuf Pathan has hit out at former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar for referring to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) line-up as "popatwadi attack"

Speaking to reporters after his match-winning 60-run knock, Pathan said, "Any team playing, or for that matter any batting lineup, and especially any bowling lineup, cannot be called Popatwadi Attack, when teams are participating in big tournaments as IPL."

Virat Kohli and his boys are under scrutiny for having a feeble bowling attack despite being a batting powerhouse.

"It is his viewpoint and his perception. Whatever he said, it is according to his understanding. But look at Varun Aaron and Shane Watson, they both have represented their country for their achievements," Pathan added.

Chasing a formidable 186-run target, Pathan remained unbeaten on 60 off 29 balls as his side chased down the total with five balls remaining.
