IPL 2016, Match 21: KXIP vs MI - Players to watch out for

New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab host Mumbai Indians in Match 21 of the Indian Premier League on Monday.

Both teams have got off to a disappointing start and will be looking to get their campaign back on track later in the day at Mohali.

While Punjab have continued from where they left off in 2015, Mumbai's poor show has come as a surprise.

Considering the rise of Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, one would have expected the defending champions to dominate the competition this term.

On the other hand, this is almost a must-win game for David Miller's side in order to keep hopes of play-offs qualification alive.

Both line-ups boast of some big names. But who will make the difference when it matters most?

Here are our picks for the players to watch out for in Match 21

Krunal Pandya (MI): Not many imagined that Krunal would outperform his young and more high-profile brother Hardik in the IPL this year. However, Ricky Ponting deserves credit not only for picking him up at the auction but also giving Krunal a chance to showcase his skills. The 25-year-old has pleasantly surprised MI fans with his consistent performances so far. In four outings, the Baroda cricketer has scored 105 runs and bagged 3 wickets. The left-hander has batted fearlessly and executed his plans with the ball as well. Against KXIP, MI will hope their newfound star will do the business yet again.

David Miller (KXIP): South Africa's David Miller is widely regarded as one of the best T20 batsmen in the world. In fact, the left-hander was nicknamed 'Killer Miller' thanks to his exploits in the cash-rich league a couple of years ago. This year, Miller was given additional responsibility to captain the KXIP franchise. So far things have not gone as per plan for him personally and the team as a whole. The 26-year-old has failed to get past the score of 15 in five outings this this term. Considering KXIP depend a lot on Miller and Maxwell, the skipper needs to find form sooner rather than later.
