Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune)

The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium is located at Gahunje near Pune. The stadium was built by Hopkins Architects of London as the MCA wanted a new venue for the growing cricket audience.

The MCA stadium was home to the Pune Warriors, a team that no longer plays in the Indian Premier League. It hosted the first match in April 2012 when Pune Warriors played against Kings XI Punjab.

In December 2012, this venue hosted its first International match when India played England in a T20 match.

The ground is home to the Maharashtra cricket team during the domenstic cricket season.

Sahara India Pariwar, then owners of Pune franchise, renamed the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in 2013 after acquiring the naming rights. However, after Sahara failed to pay the full amount it had promised at the time of acquiring the rights, the stadium's name was changed back to Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

In the 2015 edition of the IPL, Kings XI Punjab will play their home matches at this venue.
