London: In his bid to eventually return to the England team, disgruntled batsman Kevin Pietersen is ready to come clean with captain Andrew Strauss over the text messages that he sent to the South African players.

He is understood to be keen to do whatever he can to get back into the national dressing room.

The texts are not the only issue to be discussed, but they remain a huge sticking point and Pietersen is ready to fully explain his side in private conversations to be held between them.

He will detail exactly what he meant when he called them ‘provocative’ messages, and also why the majority genuinely could be seen as ‘banter’, The Daily Mirror reports.

Despite earlier claims, Pietersen did not provide information to friends in the South Africa dressing room on how to get Strauss out, and the paper reports that he also sent a number of messages praising the ability of several members of the England dressing room.

It remains a long road back for Pietersen, but indications are that he is prepared to show just how much playing for England means to him by offering the olive branch to Strauss and coach Andy Flower.

There were fears that the 32-year-old might be ready to walk away amid the controversy, especially when he was booed all the way to the wicket on his return for Surrey at the weekend.
