New Delhi: India's limited-overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni put his weight behind discarded England batsman Kevin Pietersen for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.

While unveiling the Team jersey of Rising Pune Supergiants on Monday, when the skipper was asked about Pietersen's attitude, and how he is going to manage him as a skipper during IPL 9, Dhoni heaped praise on the Englishman.

"Again, you know people are often judged by what comes in the media, but when you actually meet them they are totally different. I don't think there will be any issue with discipline," Dhoni was quoted as saying by PTI.

In fact, Dhoni labeled KP as an aggressive player, who is very expressive on the field.

"As I said, KP is a fantastic player, someone who is very aggressive and at the same time very expressive on the field. It is good to have him in the side," added the skipper.

Dhoni also said that younger players in the Pune team can learn from Pietersen's experience that includes 104 Tests and 136 one-day internationals during his decade-long career.

Dhoni-led Supergiants bought the in-form batsman for USD514,500 at the IPL player auction in February.

KP, 35, scored truckload of runs in the recently concluded South Africa's Ram Slam competition and Australia's Big Bash League.
