New Delhi: While several English cricketers have opposed the comeback of Pakistani speedster Mohammad Amir, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has thrown his weight behind the youngster, saying there should be no problem with his comeback since he has served his sentence.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, the Master Blaster said that Amir has the skills and he can do something special against England.

"He has been a good bowler and I think he has skills and if he gets his rhythm right, he will be able to do something special," he said.

When asked whether or not Amir deserved a second chance, Sachin added, "I think the guys who decided to penalise him have already penalised him since he has served the sentence now, he is back to playing after whatever he was asked to do. So I think it's fine."

It was against England in 2010 that Amir last played in whites. The first Test between England and Pakistan takes place a little less than six years after Amir bowled no balls to order at the same venue against the same opponents.

Tendulkar, who recently underwent a knee operation in London, said that Amir now looked like a matured cricketer but it remains to be seen whether he can execute his plans on the cricket field.

"I have seen a couple of interviews. The one with Michael Atherton, he came across as a matured guy with balanced head and that is something that will reflect on the field because it's all about how you think, plan and execute those plans. Whatever he spoke, he came across as a balanced guy," the Mumbaikar said.
