Mumbai crowd gives a lukewarm response to 4th ODI

Mumbai: Continuing with the tradition of the current ODI series, the Mumbai crowd decided to give the fourth ODI between India and England a miss. Right from the beginning of the tournament the current ODI series between the top two cricketing nations has failed to attract crowd attention as has been evident from the empty stands. These scenes are a rarity in an otherwise cricket crazy nation that takes pride in terming the gentleman’s game equivalent to its religion. The 33000-capacity stadium wore a similar deserted look as in Mohali which resulted in being the series decider where India chased down a score of 298 runs. India have already wrapped up the ODI series by taking an unassailable lead of 3-0. Perhaps, this might have added to the already lukewarm reception to the current series as the remaining matches won’t have any bearing on the series.
