Islamabad: Pakistani batsman Taufiq Umar says that his ‘never give up attitude’ is the secret behind his recent success in Test cricket.
Umar, who was dropped from the Test side for four years between 2006 and 2010, has now established himself as an integral part of the Pakistan team.
The 30-year-old has not only finished the recently held series against Sri Lanka as a top scorer by scoring 324 runs, but also as the country’s second prolific scorer this year after captain Misbahul Haq with 624 runs.
“I never gave up cricket because cricket is a game in which no one can perform consistently. But to become a successful cricketer you have to have fighting spirit to cope with those situations. I over those difficult times with sheer hard work and I am getting the reward now,” the Daily Times quoted Umar, as saying.
