New Zealand's Martin Guptill continues dream run, Colin Munro smashes sorry Sri Lanka to seal T20 series

New Delhi: Martin Guptill's dream run with the bat has been a phenomenon in itself as the right-hander has kept his form going strong consistently. New Zealand chased down Sri Lanka's target of 143 in just 10 overs to seal the T20 series as well.

Eden Park, Auckland, witnessed some enthralling brand of big hitting as the hosts breezed past in no time. Guptill went on to score a 25-ball 63 runs and Colin Munro came on to smash the second fastest T20 fifty in international cricket (14 balls).

Guptill had hit a 19-ball fifty just twenty minutes earlier of Munro's whirlwind knock, as the Black Caps showed no mercy on Sunday.

Munro's seven sixes was smashed all over the park as Sri Lanka bowlers faltered yet again. Skipper Angelo Mathews played a solitary hand for the visitors but the Kiwi batters made things look very simple and easy.

New Zealand have often got the perfect start and platform which has given them the platform to showcase their strengths and Guptill has been the pioneer of that. Recently in the ODIs, Guptill had gone on to score the second fastest fifty.

New T20 Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson made a good looking unbeaten 32 as he witnessed some thrashing from the other end of the pitch.

New Zealand's bowlers varied their bowling in all aspects as part-time medium pacer Grant Elliott took 4-22 to dent the Lankan batting.
