Just after his acting debut "Rock On!" bagged seven trophies at the recently held Filmfare Awards, director-actor Farhan Akhtar hopes to walk away with more awards at the forthcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards.

New Delhi, March 03: Just after his acting debut "Rock On!" bagged seven trophies at the recently held Filmfare Awards, director-actor Farhan Akhtar hopes to walk away with more awards at the forthcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards."I have visited the IIFAs before and am extremely hopeful that `Rock On!` will be nominated for the 10th year of IIFA awards," said Farhan in a press statement.
The 10th IIFA awards ceremony, to be held in June at an international destination
that is not yet finalised, is to host three-day voting weekend for the film industry in Mumbai starting Friday. Through this voting weekend, technical award winners and the nominations for popular awards will be decided. "My entire cast will be on hand to cast our votes at IIFA`s voting weekend as will many members of the film fraternity," said Farhan. Arjun Rampal, who played an important role in "Rock On!", too is upbeat about the voting weekend as he feels it is a very credible way of involving members of the film industry to nominate the deserving candidates for the awards. He said: "I have visited IIFA before and have even played at its charity match. I am very excited about casting my vote this year especially cause my movies may just be nominated." Others from the film industry are excited about the event too. "IIFA has grown into an event of repute over the last nine years. This year, being the 10th year of IIFA, the celebrations will be bigger," said Manmohan Shetty, producer and IIFA advisory board member. IANS
