OCA gears up for Sri Lanka tour opener at Barabati Stadium

Cuttack: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has made little changes in the prices of tickets for the November 2 ODI between India and Sri Lanka to be played here at Barabati Stadium.

OCA Secretary Asirbad Behera said prices of tickets for the special enclosures have been enhanced.

"But the ticket prices for all the seven galleries remain same as were fixed for the T20 match," Behera told reporters at a press conference here on Saturday.

The day and night ODI match here, which will be tour opener for the visitors would begin at 1.30 pm and the gates would be thrown open for spectators at 9.30 am. Tickets for public would be sold at stadium counters on October 30 and 31 from 9 am to 9 pm.

While there were no takers to insure the T20 match that was scheduled to be played here on October 22, Oriental Insurance Company has come forward to insure the ODI for a whopping Rs 20 crore for which the OCA has paid a premium of Rs 7 lakhs.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar and Cuttack commissionerate police have made elaborate security arrangements for the stay, travelling and for the match day for the international players. The players of both the teams are likely to arrive in the state on October 31.

"The players would be travelling with police escort to Cuttack for two days for practice and on November 2 to play the match," Behera said adding that the Cuttack district administration has been requested to provide the adjacent Baliyatra ground for parking of vehicles.
