‘Out of favor’ Malik eyes comeback as his demand soars
Islamabad: All rounder Shoaib Malik has vowed to make a comeback in the national squad after strong performances in domestic cricket.
Sources close to Pakistan cricket board confirmed that the selectors are really impressed by Malik’s showing in domestic cricket, including a triumphant Super Eight T20 Cup campaign.
“The coach and the selectors are very impressed by Malik’s show. Malik’s experience is an added advantage and he’s likely to make a comeback,” The Express Tribune quoted one of the official from the cricket board, as saying.
Malik has also attracted interest from Hampshire and Essex’s for their domestic Twenty20 event, but nothing, has been confirmed yet as the negotiations are still going on.
Malik refused to comment on the county offers, but said he was eyeing a comeback.
“Making a comeback is my priority. I’ll keep on working hard in order to achieve that. I’ve made myself available for selection and will only opt for other opportunities according to the team’s schedule,” said Malik.
