Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has termed the national team's fitness level as ' worst' in the world, saying that the team lacks fitness levels of international standards.

Shahryar said that none of their first-class teams measure up to the minimum domestic standard of fitness, insisting that they have to take drastic steps by installing a culture of fitness, the Express Tribune reported.

Shahryar further said that their fitness levels are very poor, adding that their minimum level of fitness is only met by captain Misbah-ul-Haq and veteran cricketer Younis Khan. He added it is unacceptable to see rest of the players not attaining this level.

Pakistan endured a miserable Bangladesh series as the tourists were whitewashed 3-0 in the ODI series and subsequently lost the lone T20 to the hosts. As a result of which, Pakistan dropped to ninth in the ODI rankings.

Pakistan is currently playing the second and final Test against Bangladesh after drawn first Test in Khulna.
